Hi my name is Shweta. I hold a degree in Fashion Designing. I have previously worked as a Production Manager / Merchandiser under Fashion Designer Ms. Dilnaz Karbhary for her Luxe Brand DILNAZ. It was more of a learning experience than a job as it also helped me to see the business end of a Fashion Label for the very first time. My work profile included the following :- • Managing at all stages of making a garment. • Maintaining cash flow in and out on a daily basis. • Raw materials procurement. • Giving away instructions to dyer for desired dyeing. • Supervising embroiders and tailors by handing tech sheet. • Quality Checks of each garment before dispatch. • Meeting deadlines. • Packaging of each order safely. • Dispatching each order to the respected clients on time. • Dealing with Multi Designer Stores & their Stock Rooms After an immersive experience at DILNAZ, I got an opportunity to work as a Costume Assistant in movies which is also my current stream of work termed as Freelance Costume Assistant / Stylist. I have really lucked out in having and starting my career as a costume assistant with big spectacle movie experiences namely Mardaani 2, Samrat Prithviraj & Tiger 3 along with a coming up webshow on Netflix - The Royals. The above projects have given me immense exposure to carve a niche as a costume assistant. My work profile includes :- • Studying a character to determine his fashion taste, and trying different ways to achieve the desired look of the character. • Working in teams of huge numbers still managing to stand out. • Coordinating with different departments. • Handling A-List Actors on a movie set and helping them with their character looks. • Handling Real Jewellery sponsors on set. • Keeping continuity of looks for all Actors. • Sourcing • Being a reliable team member. These are just some major attributes that I have learnt with my time during working on all these movies over a span of 7 years with other knick knacks of the industry.
